Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actress. She sings as well. Her mother raised her in the USA, where she faced many racial taunts that left her feeling like a non-person. She began to gain confidence at the age of nineteen when she entered a school audition. She was praised for her singing. This not only increased her confidence but her dreams transformed. At 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. Her biggest breakthrough was when she starred in the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway production of Spamalot winning not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. In 2007, she was cast in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy and became more famous. Apart from being an acclaimed singer she released a solo and a longer piece. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
