Zoe-perry

Perry was born on July 25, 1968 in Chicago in Illinois. She was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was on television in the role of Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. Perry was forbidden to begin acting by her parents until she reached adulthood, as they feared the strain it might cause. Perry said that she was too nervous to be an actor in high school but began acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer from Boston University. Perry started her acting career in New York after graduation, getting small parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry go back to California to work as a stage actress. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's crime thriller The Family. In 2017, Perry had a minor role on ABC's political thriller Scandal that starred her father. In the same year, her character was cast the younger model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young model of the mother's. The part was offered to her through audition, even though she has a family tie with the character.
